On Monday, 6 February, at 4:17 am local time, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey (officially known as Türkiye) near the city of Gaziantep, devastating parts of Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria. It was followed by a series of powerful aftershocks.
The News and social media was filled with devastating images and stories; homes destroyed, power down, and hospitals, bridges and roads damaged, thousands were in urgent need of help.
We are committed to contributing to our local communities, especially in time of great need. Following the earthquake disaster, Hantec’s Committee of Social Responsibility was quick to organize an internal bake sale across our offices around the world to raise funds to be donated to UNICEF.
We encouraged as many employees as possible to bake cakes, cookies, biscuits and brownies etc at home, and in turn, collected donations to help the victims of the earthquake. In addition, the CSR Committee donated their monthly budget and Hantec Markets also doubled all the donations for a further reach.
